If you want to be an original writer, try reading less
By all means, read, but just be careful. Sometimes your subconscious can creep in and copy it without you even knowing. Abstaining from too much reading has helped me be a little more original sometimes, I think, and it may help you, too.
Reading too much might be killing your originality as a writer.
When you consume other people's work constantly, you subconsciously copy them.
Your unique voice gets buried under influences.
Authenticity comes from living and sharing your own experiences.
