The value of writing has officially taken center stage in Silicon Valley.
Anthropic announced this past week a couple of job openings for writers, with starting salaries north of $200,000.
Several things jump out at me.
First and foremost, Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet model is an incredible writer, and the Opus model is a legit researcher. Yet, Anthropic wants to hire humans for the job.
This got a ton of people excited, and rightfully so.
Writers are back!
Writing is THE most important skill of 2026 and beyond, and it’s exciting to see the tech industry placing this much value on something I love to do.
And then a16z announced this… 🤯
