Woodshed Terms of Service

By installing or using Woodshed (”the app”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use Woodshed.
1. Who provides Woodshed
Woodshed is provided by Daniel Hunter (”we,” “us,” “our”), an individual operating in California, USA.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Woodshed for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these terms. We retain all other rights.
You may not:
redistribute Woodshed or its installer to third parties;
reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where applicable law expressly permits despite this limitation;
remove or alter copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.
3. Your content
The markdown files you create with Woodshed are yours. We have no license to your files because we never receive them. You retain full ownership and control.
4. Connected services
When you connect Woodshed to a third-party service (Google, AgentMail, etc.), your use of that service is governed by that service’s terms, not these terms. We are not responsible for any third-party service’s availability, behavior, or terms of service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Woodshed to:
violate applicable laws or regulations;
access another person’s data without authorization;
attempt to circumvent any security or access-control measures of connected services.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOU USE THE APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
We are not responsible for data loss caused by software bugs, hardware failure, accidental deletion, or any other cause. Back up your vault folder.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR USD 50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted by law.
8. Termination
You may stop using Woodshed at any time by uninstalling the app. We may terminate or suspend your license to use Woodshed if you breach these terms. Sections 6, 7, and 9 survive termination.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to that venue’s jurisdiction.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will reflect any change. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email where reasonably practical. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
